February Team – Cornerstone Church – Update #5

Friday morning we had breakfast and devotions. After breakfast we finished up what we could on the projects everyone had been working on. The highlight of Friday was a traditional rice tamale dinner with the teachers.  They also sang to us one song was “God will make a way”,  it touched us so because God has made a way because of the faithfulness of His children. His kingdom is growing because of this faith. They closed with the song Great is thy Faithfulness and we all joined in singing with them.. It was so much fun getting to know them better. They give their all to teach the children about God and His love for them. The work being done at Colegio Bethel is a blessing to the community of San Pedro La Laguna. It was so good to see how many of the teachers had attended Colegio Bethel, then went off for further education and are now back at Colegio Bethel teaching.

Saturday morning we packed our bags and went to the dock to say our good byes. It was a emotional time saying goodbyes to the good friends we made in just the short time we were there. Took the boat across the lake where the van driver met us. We then headed to Pastores,a little village that is known for leather boots, purses,Belts etc. The handiwork seen there was beautiful.
After a time there we headed to Antigua. It was the old capital of Guatemala. There were many old buildings and interesting things to see. We had our last dinner with Pam, Gaby and Jorge.

We can’t thank them enough for translating, taking photos, showing us much Love, making us feel like family and taking such good care of us.

Many of the group voiced they will be thinking about this trip and processing their experience for a long time. We were all so thankful for the opportunity to serve our Lord…. We were all truly blessed!

A Dios sea la Gloria!
